Brazil is amongst the top ten missionary-sending countries. World Horizons has been working in Brazil for over 26 years; recently we opened a training base in Sao Bernardo do Campo, part of Greater Sao Paulo. We currently have over 51 workers serving in 14 countries. World Horizons runs courses and workshops for recruiting and sending workers to regions where some of the least reached people groups have yet to hear the Gospel. We offer two types of training programme:
1) A long-term programme for people who are just starting in World Missions. This programme lasts 15 months and includes training time in the base, practical placements in Paraguay and Guyana, as well as practical work in churches and other opportunities to serve.
2) Pass to Macedonia is a four month training programme for people who have some theological education and speak an appropriate level of English. Our aim is to equip mission volunteers to help our ministry teams working abroad. People from any country who are willing to join are very welcome, as long as they commit to spending a minimum of six months learning Portuguese. We look forward to forming multicultural teams and giving our candidates a real taste of what it means to work in different cultures.
