Our work in North America is focused on engaging the North American Church to fulfil its role in mobilising mission workers to the least reached peoples on earth. From the World Horizons USA headquarters in the city centre of Richmond, Virginia, we operate a long-term training programme for people interested in long-term cross-cultural ministry, as well as a summer internship programme. This training is administered via a partnership with Hillside Missions Organisation. Interns learn about a variety of topics including team living, cross-cultural communication and language learning. Training programme graduates typically go on to complete a 3-6 month, or a long-term field placement with World Horizons teams around the world.
In addition, our US staff and interns are involved in art as mission, medical mission, leading short-term trips, caring for refugees in our city, local outreach to disadvantaged individuals, promotions, and media production.
Financial support and member care for mission workers is sent through their office. The first 50 feet of the office houses Gallery Edit, an art as mission initiative that features a different Christian artist every month and is open to the public during office hours. We frequently attend events at churches and conferences at universities, representing World Horizons and offering opportunities for people to get involved in mission to the least reached. There are currently job openings in our Training, Member Care, Medical Mission, Finance, Mobilisation, Art, and Communications teams.
