The World Horizons France team consists of families and individuals, French nationals and ex-pats from across the world. They live in the north, south, east and west of France, and work alongside French churches and local associations. Their work includes reaching out to students, running Alpha courses, teaching English, children’s and youth work, prayer initiatives and other activities in the local community.
Our team near Biarritz is focused on supporting the local church through children’s and youth ministries, as well as building relationships with local people through dance classes. They are also sharing their faith with the international surfing community; many from this background who had turned their back on God are beginning to return to faith. In Marseille, our small team reaches out to the Muslim community through teaching English and other local activities.
The Château team, based near Lille, initiate and host interdenominational prayer gatherings for the region and country. Other members of the France team minister to local and national authorities, including the European Parliament in Strasbourg, through prayer and support. Some team members also have local employment as a way of both supporting themselves financially and making friends.
The France team is eager to see an effective witness amongst large immigrant communities and has spearheaded the French translation of an international discipleship resource designed for sharing faith with Muslims. Leaders’ training courses have been facilitated in several locations within France and local discipleship groups have been established.
